CNN’s Manu Raju reported the GOP is “on track” to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett by the end of the month.
Raju tweeted “GOP on track for confirmation of Barrett by month’s end. Tillis, who tested positive earlier this month, is expected back tomorrow, per an aide.”
He added “With Lee and Tillis back, GOP should have quorum for Thursday when Graham has scheduled a business meeting. Committee will vote Oct. 22”
In a follow up tweet, Raju cited Dianne Feinstein, who said “Chairman Graham’s announcement that he will hold Judge Barrett’s first committee markup on Thursday morning, before we’ve even finished her hearing, is unprecedented in my time on the committee.”
Democrats intensely criticized Barrett’s nomination Monday, focusing on the effect her addition to the SCOTUS could have on Obamacare and the “rushed” circumstances behind her confirmation fight.
In case you missed it, here is a replay of the first day of Barrett’s confirmation hearing.
