CNN Loses Half their Viewership in Key Demographic as Fox News Tops Cable News Ratings

According to a new report from The Wrap “May ratings are in and Fox News beat its cable news competition in total-day viewership and primetime viewership in both total average viewers and viewers in the key demo, according to Nielsen Media Research data. CNN lost half of its key demo viewership year over year, but maintained its year-to-date lead in the demo.”

“CNN had an average of only 610,000 total viewers, but took second place in the key demo with 147,000. MSNBC held down second place in total average viewers with 835,000, but came in last in the demo, averaging 108,000,” the report adds.

This comes as CNN host Chris Cuomo has faced severe backlash after he admitted advising his embattled NY Governor brother in a strategy call.

Chris Cuomo’s older brother Andrew Cuomo has been accused of sexual harassment by at least nine women including multiple women who worked for him.

During the midst of the pandemic CNN featured several “feel good” segments between Chris Cuomo and his NY Governor brother including a much mocked segment where Chris whips out a giant Q-tip prop to mock the size of his brother’s nose.
