Bill Clinton pal Jeffrey Epstein faces up to 45 years in the same prison as notorious Mexican Gangster “El Chapo.”
Top Trending took a look inside the supermax prison where ‘El Chapo’ Guzman will be spending the rest of his life. No one has ever escaped this prison before.
Jeffrey Epstein famously bragged that he owned the largest home in New York City for years, but this weekend he found his way into an even bigger facility.
The convicted pedophile, who is now facing federal sex trafficking charges, is being housed at the Metropolitan Correction Center in downtown Manhattan, the same facility as Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman.
He will make his first court appearance in Monday, at which time attorneys for the Southern District of New York will likely present the billionaire as a flight risk and ask that bail be denied in the case.
The Daily Beast reports that it is the office’s Public Corruption Unit that investigated Epstein, who is facing up to 45 years behind bars if found guilty on both counts: sex trafficking of minors and conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking of minors.
The charges against Epstein were filed following dozens of interviews with victims, who also spoke the FBI and the NYPD.
Almost all of these women claim they were underage when they were asked to give Epstein massages at his Palm Beach or New York City homes, according to a law enforcement official.
Those women – some of whom were just 14 at the time of these alleged incidents – claim that these massages would often lead to Epstein asking that they perform a rape act on him in exchange for money.
That same official said that the incidents for which Epstein is now being charged all occurred between 1999 and 2005.
