City of Detroit wants Sidney Powell fined and banned for filing “frivolous” lawsuit

The City of Detroit has initiated action in an effort to get pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell banned from practicing in the eastern district of Michigan for filling her “Kraken” lawsuit they deem as “frivolously undermining ‘People’s faith in the democratic process and their trust in our government.’”

Detroit’s lawyer told Law and Crime “It’s time for this nonsense to end.”

He added “the lawyers filing these frivolous cases that undermine democracy must pay a price.”

According to the report, Detroit’s motion requests a federal judge fine Powell’s lawyers and ban them from practicing in the Eastern District of Michigan, instead referring them to Michigan’s bar for grievance proceedings.

Fink’s 9-page motion states. “Plaintiffs and their counsel understood that the mere filing of a suit (no matter how frivolous) could, without any evidence, raise doubts in the minds of millions of Americans about the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election.”

It adds “as this Court noted, ‘Plaintiffs ask th[e] Court to ignore the orderly statutory scheme established to challenge elections and to ignore the will of millions of voters.’”

Powell continues to make her case in interviews and social media despite backlash from Democrats.
