Chiefs-Buccaneers score lowest rated Super Bowl since 1969

According to ratings, the NFL may have still not gained the viewers back it lost during the controversy over teams kneeling during the national anthem for social justice protests, a trend that started with Colin Kaepernick.

Per sports media watch:

Chiefs-Buccaneers lowest rated Super Bowl since 1969 (Namath) and least-watched since 2006.

Sets streaming record, but still least-watched since 2007 with that audience included.

38.2 rating still tops every non-NFL program since Nancy-Tonya Olympics:

Entering Sunday, Super Bowl ratings had topped a 40 rating for 30-straight years. Sunday’s game was just the seventh in Super Bowl history (55 games) with less than a 40.
