The Capitol police officer killed in that attack earlier today has been identified as William “Billy Evans.”
Evans was a 18 year veteran of the department and has been serving since 2003.
Acting U.S. Capitol Police Chief Yogananda Pittman said in a statement “it is with profound sadness that I share the news of the passing of Officer William ‘Billy’ Evans this afternoon from injuries he sustained following an attack at the North Barricade by a lone assailant.”
“Officer Evans had been a member of the United States Capitol Police for 18 year,” he added.
The suspect in the U.S. Capitol police killing has been identified as Noah Green, 25, from Indiana.
Per the report, a law enforcement source said he identifies himself as a Nation of Islam follower on Facebook who may have recently lost his job.

The US Capitol was locked down on Friday after Noah Green, wielding a knife, rammed into a barricade, leaving a Capitol officer Billy Evans dead. The suspect is also dead and another officer was injured.
