Bubba Wallace has announced he’s leaving Richard Petty Motorsports for free agency.
Wallace said in a statement posted on Twitter “I believe it’s time for someone else to take over the reins of No. 43.”

Richard Petty Motorsports said in a statement “We will complete this season with Wallace behind the wheel of the No. 43 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE. We look forward to the next chapter in the making for the iconic No. 43 team. We will announce our new driver in the near future.”
Bubba Wallace has never won a NASCAR race but shot to national fame when what his team believed there was a “noose” in his team’s garage as a possible “hate crime.”
It was later revealed the “noose” had been there far before he arrived and there was no hate crime targeting him.
Wallace has since racked up several new sponsorships and has made countless media appearances while advocating for racial justice.
