BREAKING: Two more Texas House members who fled state test positive for COVID

Two more Texas House members of the group that fled the state to D.C. tested positive today, bringing the total to five.

Texas HDC says all five are fully vaccinated and showing “no symptoms or only mild symptoms.”

Per the Austin American “Three members previously tested positive for COVID-19, with the first case confirmed Friday evening and two more reported Saturday morning, including Rep. Celia Israel of Austin, who said she is experiencing mild symptoms.”

State Rep. Trey Martinez Fischer of San Antonio said in a statement that he was one of the two members to test positive for the virus on Sunday, after testing negative on both Friday and Saturday.”

“The Texas House Democratic Caucus is not naming the individuals who have tested positive, but officials with the party said all of the lawmakers in Washington have been vaccinated, including those who are now infected,” the report adds.
