On Easter Sunday, President Trump took to Twitter to voice his surprise at recent The New York Times op-ed apologizing for the media’s resoundingly negative coverage regarding the Mueller investigation.
“Do you believe this?” asked the president, who has frequently criticized The Times, and quoted the article, which surmised that the media and Democrats owe Trump an apology, adding, “Well, they got that one right!”
Do you believe this? The New York Times Op-Ed: MEDIA AND DEMOCRATS OWE TRUMP AN APOLOGY. Well, they got that one right!

Throughout his administration, President Trump has sparred with the mainstream media, having repeatedly traded barbs with publications such as The Times and Washington Post.
Following the Mueller report’s vindication of Trump and his campaign, the president and his allies have touted the victory while admonishing the press, as well as political adversaries.
Per NYPost, the author, Christopher Buskirk, said the “media and political elites” have a lot of work to do to regain Americans’ trust.
“To the public figures who promoted the collusion story, I say: Own it. Just admit you were wrong. It won’t feel good at first. But when the initial sting passes you will find it liberating. And people will respect you for it,” Buskirk wrote last in the op-ed published last Thursday.
In a fifth tweet issued during a two-hour span, Trump touted the economy while wishing Americans “Happy Easter!”
“I have never been happier or more content because your Country is doing so well, with an Economy that is the talk of the World and may be stronger than it has ever been before,” the president said. “Have a great day!”
In another, Trump said the United States offered its “heartfelt condolences” for the hundreds killed in a series of explosions in Sri Lanka.
“We stand ready to help,” the president said.
