BREAKING: Trump Rips “Con Man” Al Sharpton Before He Flies to Baltimore

Anticipating Al Sharpton was flying to Baltimore in order to cause a stir against him, President Trump took a pre-emptive shot at the MSNBC contributor.

I have known Al for 25 years. Went to fights with him & Don King, always got along well. He “loved Trump!” He would ask me for favors often. Al is a con man, a troublemaker, always looking for a score. Just doing his thing. Must have intimidated Comcast/NBC. Hates Whites & Cops!

Per FreeBeacon, Sharpton client Tawana Brawley claimed she was kidnapped and gang-raped by white men, including a police officer and local prosecutor, in 1987. The story became a national sensation and was a career-maker for Sharpton, who was largely unknown at the time.

But after a long investigation revealed Brawley’s claims to be false, it was dropped. Brawley finally began making defamation payments in August for her false accusations in the case, but Sharpton would still admit no fault.

President Trump ripped Al Sharpton early Monday amid a controversy over the president’s attacks on House Oversight Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) and Baltimore, saying the civil rights activist and MSNBC host “hates whites & cops.”

“I have known Al for 25 years. Went to fights with him & Don King, always got along well. He ‘loved Trump!’ He would ask me for favors often,” Trump tweeted in response to a post from Sharpton indicating he was traveling to Baltimore.

“Al is a con man, a troublemaker, always looking for a score. Just doing his thing. Must have intimidated Comcast/NBC,” he added. “Hates Whites & Cops!”

The Rev. Al Sharpton is a longtime American civil rights activist who founded the National Action Network. He weighs in often on the Democratic Party and has met with several 2020 candidates.

Sharpton has previously criticized Trump over some of the president’s comments regarding race and questioned a visit Trump made earlier this year to the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Washington, D.C., publicly asking why it was made in “secret.”

Minutes after taking a shot at Sharpton, Trump followed it up with another tweet blasting Cummings and the alleged plights of Baltimore.

“Baltimore, under the leadership of Elijah Cummings, has the worst Crime Statistics in the Nation,” Trump tweeted Monday morning. “25 years of all talk, no action! So tired of listening to the same old Bull…Next, Reverend Al will show up to complain & protest. Nothing will get done for the people in need. Sad!”
