Prior to Trump’s tweet, Iranian President Hasan Rouhani compared Trump to a “madman” on Wednesday and compared him to former Iraq President Saddam Hussein, who was
“The day that madman was hanged was the day people celebrated the final victory,” Rouhani said during a cabinet meeting according to The Independent. “Trump’s fate won’t be much better than Saddam’s.”
In comments broadcast on state television Rouhani said “one madman in our region was Saddam, who imposed a war on our nation, and the other madman was Trump, who imposed another war on our people.”
“One imposed a military war on us, while the other imposed an economic war,” he added.
