Reporter Kellie Meyer says she asked Senator Tim Scott if he’s open to witnesses, he answered no.
She then asked him if he’s open to receiving the Bolton manuscript.
He answered “it will be a great book when it comes out, but no.”
With press asking Senators about their outlook, Senators weighed in on whether Republicans will be able to prevent Democrats from forcing witnesses.
Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) expressed cautious optimism Republicans would be able to block the motion for witnesses “I think I can say the mood is good.. If I had to guess, no witnesses,” he added “We’ll be in a place where I think everyone is going to have their mind made up and I believe that we’ll be able to move to a verdict, and the witness question will be clear at that point.”
Senator Thom Thillis (R-NC) also expressed optimism to Bill Hemmer of Fox News.
“I believe that we will. I think when we go on the motion Friday we will be successful and then we’ll move forward on the Articles of Impeachment.”
