BREAKING: Senate passes temporary debt ceiling extension in 50-48 vote

Moments ago, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced “The Senate has passed an extension of the debt limit avoiding a first-ever, Republican-manufactured default on the national debt.”

Per CNN “The Senate voted to extend the nation’s debt limit through early December after Democrats and Republicans reached a deal to avert a government default.”

The House will have to approve the measure before it ends up on President Biden’s desk.

The vote was 50 to 48.
