BREAKING: Omar Reacts After Palestinian Authority Bans LGBT Activities

Per the Jerusalum Post, The Palestinian Authority banned members of the Palestinian Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community from carrying out any activities in the West Bank.

The ban came after the grassroots group Al-Qaws for Sexual & Gender Diversity in Palestinian Society (Arabic for “the bow”), which engages and supports Palestinians who identify as LGBTQ, was planning to hold a gathering for its members in Nablus at the end of the month. The group operates both in the West Bank and among Arab-Israelis.

Explaining the decision to ban the LGBTQ group from operating in PA-controlled areas, Luay Zreikat, spokesperson for the PA Police, said that such activities are “harmful to the higher values and ideals of Palestinian society.”

Trump supporter Robby Starbuck wanted to know how pro-Palestine “squad” members Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib and AOC would react to this news that shows the Palestinians are anything but “progressive.”

Ilhan Omar responded to Starbuck, but instead of condemning Palestine, she attacked Israel.

In a later tweet Omar did concede “LGBTQ rights are human rights and we should condemn any effort to infringe upon them.”

But then immediately spun back to Israel, tweeting “But we should also condemn any effort to equate this with the occupation or use this as a distraction.”

Starbuck responded, asking Omar:

Only you could make the Palestinian Authorities homophobia about Israel.

Where did I pretend that the Palestinian Authority being homophobic had anything to do with Israel? You’re deflecting.

Sounds like you can turn anything into an attack on Israel. Wonder why?

By the way, calling us “depolorables” didn’t work out so well for @HillaryClinton and I doubt it’ll work out well for you during your next election.

Now back to the real issue, will you fully condemn the homophobic acts of the Palestinian Authority?
