A new video that has emerged now represents the 3rd image of Canadian leader Justin Trudeau in either racist black or brown face in just the last day.
This story is developing.
It’s not clear when or where the video was taken, but the video, obtained exclusively by Global News, shows Trudeau covered in what appears to be dark makeup and raising his hands in the air while laughing, sticking his tongue out and making faces.
He’s wearing a white T-shirt, and his jeans are ripped at the knees. It appears as though his arms and legs are covered in makeup as well.
It does not appear the video was shot at the same time and place of the other photos of Trudeau in racist make-up that have emerged in the past 24 hours.
Global News initially obtained the video from a source earlier this week but had been attempting to verify it before publishing. A senior member of the Liberal campaign confirmed it was Trudeau early Thursday morning but would not comment further, simply referring Global News back to Trudeau’s comments on the matter from Wednesday evening. The source did not shoot the video but Global News subsequently reached the person believed to have shot the video. That person would not confirm or deny that it was Trudeau in the video or the time and place of the video.
Two more damning photographs of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau dressed in blackface have emerged within hours of him apologizing for putting on brown make-up to attend an Arabian Nights party in 2001.
In the first new photograph, Trudeau is dressed up as Jamaican singer Harry Belafonte to sing Day-O, a Jamaican song, at Jean Brebeuf High School at a talent show. He graduated from the school in the early 1990s.
The second is taken from a video which is undated but was given to Global News on Wednesday. The outlet confirmed with a senior member of the Liberal campaign that it was Trudeau.
It shows him raising his arms and sticking his tongue out while dressed in a white t-shirt and jeans.
On Wednesday, he apologized over a different photo which was taken in 2001 when he was 29-year-old teacher. That image showed him dressed in a turban and white robe with brown make-up on his face to attend an Arabian Nights party.
In a press conference held on his campaign plane, he acknowledged that the photo was racist and said he should have known better.
‘I’m p***ed off at myself, I’m disappointed in myself,’ he said.
