U.S. Soccer Star and activist Megan Rapinoe has officially endorsed Elizabeth Warren for President.
Rapinoe shared a video of her recent phone call with Warren on Twitter, writing “I’m proud to endorse Elizabeth Warren today, for being bold, for being real, for listening to ALL of us, and for being prepared to navigate the unique challenges we face today as a country”
I truly believe the best things in life are a result of being bold and being real. Warren has tweeted in response:
Thank you, @mPinoe! I’m so grateful to have you on @TeamWarren. I promise to fight shoulder-to-shoulder alongside you for equal pay and the bold, structural change our country needs. https://t.co/wyV0y7UkHS

Rapinoe was recently named the “2019 sportsperson of the year” by Sports Illustrated.
During the SI Sportsperson of the Year awards Monday, Rapinoe told Reuters “I think the most important thing is to get that maniac out of the White House.”

In May, Rapinoe told Yahoo sports her continued national anthem protests, that were inspired at least in part by Colin Kaepernick, a “good F you” to the Trump administration.
“I’ll probably never put my hand over my heart. I’ll probably never sing the national anthem again.” Rapinoe added “I feel like I’m a walking protest… I feel like it’s kind of defiance in and of itself to just be who I am and wear the jersey, and represent it.
