BREAKING: Dems Fume After Trump Refers to Coronavirus as “Chinese Virus”

Several Democrats fumed after President Trump referred to the coronavirus as “the Chinese virus” on Twitter Monday.

Trump tweeted:

The United States will be powerfully supporting those industries, like Airlines and others, that are particularly affected by the Chinese Virus. We will be stronger than ever before!

Mayor Bill de Blasio wrote:

If you’re looking for someone to pin this crisis on, try the guy who made up a phony Google website or promised testing kits that he STILL hasn’t delivered.

Our Asian-American communities — people YOU serve — are already suffering. They don’t need you fueling more bigotry.

Christopher Zullo responded:

Let’s remember. Coronavirus is not an Asian virus. It’s a human virus. We must elongate the epidemic curve for slow rise, slow fall. We must release all medical stockpiles. We must limit public gatherings of any sort, of any kid. Sooner we do this, sooner we conquer this disease

Daniel Silvas replied “What about the Spanish Flu? Or the Russian Flu?”

“Star Trek” actor George Takei vented in a series of tweets.

You know what the world calls the “American virus”? YOU.

We need to rename Covid-19. Trump likes to call it the Chinese Virus. Huh. How about Covid-45?

Takei then called for Twitter users to “report this tweet.”

Another Twitter user took the opposite stance writing:

THANK YOU for calling the virus what it is—a Chinese virus.

CHINA is responsible for all of this chaos, carnage, and costs.

They must be held accountable.
