Disgraced former NY Governor Andrew Cuomo has lost his Emmy award he was given in 2020.
“The International Academy announced today that in light of the New York Attorney General’s report, and Andrew Cuomo’s subsequent resignation as Governor, it is rescinding his special 2020 International Emmy Award,” the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences said in a statement Tuesday.
“His name and any reference to his receiving the award will be eliminated from International Academy materials going forward,” the statement added.
It was only in November of last year that Cuomo had been honored.
The International Emmys tweeted “Gov Andrew M Cuomo of NY will receive the International Emmy Founders Award in recognition of his leadership during the Covid19 pandemic & his masterful use of TV to inform & calm people around the world.”
