According to a new report from The Hill “Congress will approve $1.375 billion for a wall along the southern border as part of the $1.4 trillion omnibus spending bill for the next fiscal year, according to GOP sources.”
The measure is expected to pass Monday along with the $900 billion dollar COVID relief bill.
The White House has signaled that President Trump will sign the bill.
December of 2018, the nation’s longest shutdown in history took place over disagreements on border wall spending.
According to the report “Trump had requested $2 billion for the wall in 2021, but Democrats put no funding for the project in their appropriations bills, going so far as to claw back funds from previous years and block transfers from other accounts using emergency powers in legislation that passed in the House.”
