BREAKING: Biden to sign executive order to cancel the Keystone Pipeline

According to a new report from CBS News, President-elect Joe Biden plans to rescind the Keystone Pipeline  cross-border permit on day one of his Presidency.

Politico cited two unnamed lobbyists that said Biden would fulfill the campaign promise made last year.

Per Politico “The move is billed as one of Biden’s Day One climate change actions, according to a presentation circulating among Washington trade groups and lobbyists, a portion of which was seen by POLITICO.

The report adds “The decision was not included in incoming chief of staff Ron Klain’s Saturday memo outlining Biden’s planned executive actions during the first days of his presidency.”

One oil and gas lobbyist Politico spoke to who chose to stay anonymous said “The only question has always been whether labor can stave off the death sentence and they never had a chance.”

In response to the report, progressive Senator Bernie Sanders tweeted “The Keystone pipeline is & always has been a disaster. I’m delighted that Joe Biden will cancel the Keystone permit on his first day in office. With all of the major crises facing America, we must never lose sight of the most existential threat facing our planet: climate change.”
