During his Wednesday testimony before Senators regarding the fallout of the recently-released Mueller report, US Attorney General William Barr was asked about his plans to investigate disturbing reports of leaks between the FBI and media during the probe.
After listing a series of incidents, Senator Chuck Grassley asked Barr, “What are you doing to investigate unauthorized media contacts by [DOJ] and FBI officials during the Russian investigation?”
“We have multiple criminal leak investigations underway,” responded Barr, echoing remarks made last month by Republican lawmaker Devin Nunes, who announced he had made five criminal referrals regarding leaks.

For Republicans, including Rep. Nunes and Senator Grassley, leaks between the FBI and the media have remained a major point of contention, and are now being thoroughly investigated following the Mueller report’s conclusion.
