BREAKING: 6 injured in Idaho mall shooting, including Boise police officer

The Boise police department reports that Five people and a Boise Police officer were injured in a shooting at an Idaho mall. Police are making notifications to family of those involved and continuing to clear the mall.

The Boise PD wrote on Twitter:

Officers are responding to a report of shots fired at the mall on N. Milwaukee. People are asked to avoid the area. More information will be available here as it is confirmed.

Officers are continuing to secure the scene, there are multiple reports of injuries. One person is in custody.

Officers continuing to work their way though the mall to clear each business. It is expected to take a little while. We have no further information indicating additional threats at this time.

CBS2 reporter Trevor Fay, who is at the mall reported people are being loaded into ambulances as others cry and speak on their cell phones.

Holli Woodings, City of Boise council member said “As we learn more about the events that unfolded this afternoon at Boise Towne Square, my heart goes out to the retail workers and security personnel who responded quickly and tried to keep customers and coworkers safe,”
