Two officers in Louisville, Kentucky were shot Wednesday night amid protest over the grand jury decision in the Breonna Taylor case.
A suspect was taken into custody, charges have yet to be released.
The officers sustained non-life-threatening injuries according to the LMPD’s interim police chief Robert Schroeder
“I am very concerned about the safety of our officers,” Schroeder told reporters after the incident “Obviously, we’ve had two officers shot tonight. And that is very scary and a very dangerous condition.”
President Trump tweeted “Praying for the two police officers that were shot tonight in Louisville, Kentucky. The Federal Government stands behind you and is ready to help. Spoke to @GovAndyBeshear and we are prepared to work together, immediately upon request!”
He added in a subsequent tweet “LAW & ORDER!”
