Responding to Joni Ernest’s warning that he could be impeached by Republicans if he were to win the Presidency, Joe Biden claimed “I’ve never seen a sitting president and his allies this frightened about who may be the nominee.”
“She just reinforces everything that was the reason why the president was being impeached: They very much don’t want to face me obviously,” Biden told the Des Moines Register “I’ve never seen a sitting president and his allies this frightened about who may be the nominee.”
Tonight’s Iowa caucus will be a major test for Biden. Biden is trailing Bernie Sanders in most Iowa caucus polling.
If Biden performs poorly, his relatively low campaign cash compared to rivals could be an immediately problem.
Yahoo reports Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) has warned that former Vice President Joe Biden could immediately face calls for impeachment if elected president.
The first-term Republican went on the offense in an interview with Bloomberg News on Sunday, saying Biden’s prior dealings with Ukraine puts a target on his back.
“I think this door of impeachable whatever has been opened,” she said.
“Joe Biden should be very careful what he’s asking for because, you know, we can have a situation where if it should ever be President Biden, that immediately, people, right the day after he would be elected would be saying, ‘Well, we’re going to impeach him.’”
