A Biden admin government stimulus program meant to help non-white “socially disadvantaged farmers” has been halted after white farmers sued.
Per DailyCaller “Judge William Griesbach of Wisconsin’s Eastern District handed down a temporary restraining order after the conservative Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL) filed a lawsuit in April. The group alleged in its announcement that President Joe Biden’s relief program was unconstitutional and that white farmers should have been included in the loan program.”
Rick Esenberg, WILL’s president and general counsel said in a press release Thursday “The Court recognized that the federal government’s plan to condition and allocate benefits on the basis of race raises grave constitutional concerns and threatens our clients with irreparable harm.”
“The Biden administration is radically undermining bedrock principles of equality under the law,” he added.
Biden’s Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has said they aim to “root out whatever systemic racism and barriers may exist at the Department of Agriculture directed to Black farmers, socially disadvantaged farmers, and people who live in persistently poor areas of rural America.”
The non-white eligible framers were to receive “up to 120% of their outstanding debts paid off as a result of the American Rescue Plan, with the extra 20% going toward taxes associated with the outstanding debt.”
