Beto says he’s not planning to run for Texas governor

Former Texas lawmaker and failed Presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke said Friday he will not be running for governor in 2022.

The Democrat at one point said he was considering challenging governor Greg Abbott, a Republican.

O’Rourke told The Dallas Morning News “I’ve got no plans to run, and I’m very focused on the things that I’m lucky enough to do right now — organizing, registering voters and teaching.”

“I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing now,” he added.
