Failed 2020 candidate Beto O’Rouke, who has been a vocal advocate of stronger gun control measures, acknowledged the Church shooting on Twitter but failed to thank the heroic “good guys with a gun” that killed the gunman only 6 seconds after he opened fire.
Beto tweeted:
So saddened to hear about another church shooting in Texas, this one in White Settlement near Fort Worth.
Clearly what we are doing in Texas, what we are doing in this country, when it comes to guns is not working.

Many who responded were angered by Beto’s spin.
Mindy Robinson tweeted “You left out the part where a good guy with a gun saved the day. Because of course you did, you’re an anti-gun p*ssy.”

Another Twitter user wrote “Actually after reading it, it seemed Texas is doing it right. There were people in the congregation with guns that stopped it quickly. It sounds like the shooter became one of the three victims. Thank God people were there that could intervene! Very sad for the other two victims.”

Monday afternoon, Beto O’Rourke again referred to the incident and used it to push Gun Control.
Once again, Beto did not acknowledge the heroes win guns who prevented many more from being killed.
Our representatives in Texas have left us open to these kinds of attacks. Time to change our representatives. https://t.co/IE2etGtcmx

Austen Cline responded “Our representatives in Texas helped to prevent a mass tragedy, what have you done?”
