Beto expected to teach Texas politics at Texas State University

A new article from The Texas Star, the student-run news organization of Texas State University reports that former 2020 Presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke will soon be an instructor there.

Political Science Chair Ken Grasso says pending finalization of his hire, Beto will soon be teaching.

Grasso said  “He originally approached people in the administration… and expressed an interest in teaching.”

“I was thrilled,” he continued “He’s got a unique take on things with his experience as a congressman and as [a] senatorial candidate and even a presidential candidate. So we’re very happy to have him.”

Grasso also saw the move as one that would “increase visibility” for their university.

“I don’t know that so much it’s going to increase enrollments; it’ll certainly increase visibility,” Grasso said.

“That’s always a good thing. We tend to sometimes to get lost in the shadow of other institutions.”
