AOC speaks out after confrontation with Rep. Greene, says “This is a woman that’s deeply unwell. And clearly needs help”

AOC has spoken out after her confrontation with Republican Rep. Greene.

Ocasio-Cortez said “This is a woman that’s deeply unwell. And clearly needs help. And her kind of fixation has lasted for several years now” and “raised concerns for other Members…I think that this is an assessment that needs to be made by the proper professional.”

After the confrontation, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi characterized the confrontation as Greene being guilty of “verbal assault” and “abuse.”

“It’s so beyond the pale of anything that is in keeping with bringing honor to the House,” Pelosi said during her weekly press conference Thursday.

AOC told Wapo Rep. Greene “tried to begin an argument,” and that when she tried to walk away, Greene “began screaming and called Rep. Ocasio-Cortez a terrorist sympathizer.”

Lauren Hitt, AOC’s spokeswoman said “We hope leadership and the Sergeant at Arms will take real steps to make Congress a safe, civil place for all Members and staff — especially as many offices are discussing reopening.”

Greene wrote on Twitter:

@AOC “Ms. Defund The Police” wants to call the police for security bc she’s afraid of debating with me about her socialist GND.

AOC is a fraud & a hypocrite.

That’s fine Sandy.

Since you lack the courage & intelligence to debate me, I’ll debate the person who really wrote it.

And any US Member of Congress supporting terrorists Hamas should be expelled.

Any member supporting and fundraising for criminals in Antifa/BLM riots in American cities should be expelled.

That’s the #JihadSquad and the VP.
