AOC Shifts Gears, Calls for New Yorkers to Shun Bars and Restaurants

Just a few days ago, Freshman lawmaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez voiced her concern that due to coronavirus and “straight up racism” some were choosing not to eat at Asian restaurants.

Now she’s suddenly changed her tune, warning New Yorkers to avoid crowding bars and restaurants.

Last Wednesday AOC said during a live stream “Honestly it sounds almost so silly to say but there’s a lot of restaurants that are feeling the pain of racism where people are literally not patroning Chinese restaurants, they’re not patroning asian restaurants because of just straight up racism around the coronavirus.”

This is AOC’s new message:

To everyone in NYC but ESPECIALLY healthy people & people under 40 (bc from what I’m observing that’s who needs to hear this again):

PLEASE stop crowding bars, restaurants, and public spaces right now. Eat your meals at home.

If you are healthy, you could be spreading COVID.
