AOC Reacts to Barrett confirmation, calls for expanding the Supreme court “they don’t believe Dems have the stones to play hardball”

Moments ago, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) reacted to the confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.

The NY progressive Democrat wrote “Expand the court.”

She continued “Republicans do this because they don’t believe Dems have the stones to play hardball like they do. And for a long time they’ve been correct. But do not let them bully the public into thinking their bulldozing is normal but a response isn’t.”

“There is a legal process for expansion,” she added.

One Twitter user replied to AOC “I hope Biden makes it 13 seats. Add 4 more young dems to the court. I want a 7-6 majority.”

Another wrote “Yes! It’s time, AOC. We have to become ruthless to restore our democracy. This is beyond the pale. As a woman, I’m furious. This will not stand”

Another AOC supporter wrote “And statehood for DC and PR.”

He added “And abolish the electoral college and switch to a ranked-choice popular vote.”

Another replied “Remove the illegitimate Trump nominees. Make it so justices are elected through national direct popular vote subject to a retention vote every ten years, automatic retirement at the age of 70. Right now the Supreme Court is illegitimate and undemocratic.”
