AOC issues statement on her DNC role “If you were confused, no worries!”

Tuesday night progressive firebrand Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke at the DNC convention.

In what was a surprise for some, she seconded the nomination of Bernie Sanders for the President of the United States, saying “I hereby second the nomination of Senator Bernard Sanders of Vermont for President of the United States”

After some were confused by the move, AOC explained what happened on Twitter.

She wrote:

If you were confused, no worries!

Convention rules require roll call & nominations for every candidate that passes the delegate threshold.

I was asked to 2nd the nom for Sen. Sanders for roll call.

I extend my deepest congratulations to @JoeBiden- let’s go win in November.
