Anti-Trump Republican Speaker at Tonight’s DNC Made Millions Lobbying for Russia

According to a new bombshell report from The Federalist, records show that Susan Molinari, one of 4 Anti-Trump Republicans to speak at tonight’s day one Democratic National convention, was paid millions of dollars for work on behalf of the Kremlim.

Sean Davis and Mollie Hemingway report “According to federal documents filed pursuant to the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), the lobbying firm run by former Rep. Susan Molinari and its business partner received nearly $2.5 million in just one six-month period in 2008 to “cover fees and expenses for providing services for the benefit of the Russian Federation.” During the final of the year, the Russian lobbying deal made the consortium another $2.8 million for its work on behalf of the Kremlin, records show.”

Molinari left Congress in 1997 and went on to a career promoting the interests of foreign governments in Russia, Panama and Bangladesh.

According to the Federalist “Molinari’s former firm The Washington Group was part of a consortium of high-powered marketing and lobbying operations that raked in more than $60 million from the Russian Federation to improve the country’s image in the United States.”

The addition of Molinari to the speakers list for day one of the DNC convention was not known until this morning.

While it was long. publicized that former Ohio Governor John Kasich will speak at tonight’s DNC Convention, the first of the four day event, Monday morning the DNC announced 3 more surprise Republican speakers to also participate, including Molinari.

The other 2 anti-Trump Republican speakers tonight other than Kasich and Molinari are former New Jersey Gov. Christine Todd Whitman and former HP CEO/ Romney adviser Meg Whitman.
